NR 2002- 75 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Dean DeBuck (202) 874-5770 September 19, 2002 Barry Kolatch Named Deputy Comptroller For Economic Research and Policy Development WASHINGTON -- The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency announced today that Barry Kolatch has been appointed Deputy Comptroller for Economic Research and Policy Development. Mr. Kolatch, who will start in his new position on September 23, will be responsible for economic and policy analysis and research on the performance of national banks. "Economic analysis plays a vital role in our supervision of national banks," said Jonathan L. Fiechter, Senior Deputy Comptroller for International and Economic Affairs. "We are very fortunate to have Barry's broad experience to apply to economic research and policy development here at the OCC." Mr. Kolatch has been the Deputy Director of the Division of Research and Statistics at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. He was also Senior Advisor to the Chairman of the FDIC. In addition, he served at the Resolution Trust Corporation where he was Vice President for Planning, Research and Statistics. Prior to his government service, he was a Principal of Golembe Associates, Inc.
