Qualitative Restrictions

Unless an exemption is available, credit transactions with affiliates must be collateralized, and purchases of "low-quality assets" generally are prohibited. In addition, all covered transactions (whether or not exempted from other restrictions of Regulation W) must be consistent with safe and sound banking practices.
