Emre Balta is a Senior Financial Economist in the Credit Risk Analysis Division within the Economics department of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).

Dr. Balta’s current research interests include credit risk modeling, risk aggregation, banking regulation. Dr. Balta joined the OCC in 2005. Before joining the OCC, Dr. Balta worked for Citigroup. He holds a doctorate in economics from the City University of New York (CUNY) Graduate Center and an undergraduate degree in economics from Bilkent University in Turkey.
