Irina Paley is the Deputy Director of the Compliance Risk Analysis Division within Economics at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).

Dr. Paley joined the OCC in 2005. Dr. Paley has worked on developing statistical methods to identify low levels of mortgage lending for Community Reinvestment Act purposes as well as for OCC redlining. Her research interests include the role of risk aversion and financial literacy in financial product choice and borrower repayment behavior. She holds a Ph.D. in economics from Brown University and a bachelor’s degree from Brandeis University.
