Michael R. Brickman

Michael R. Brickman is the Deputy Comptroller for Regional and Midsize Financial Institutions at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). 

In this role, Mr. Brickman oversees the supervision of national banks and federal savings associations between $30 billion and $500 billion in assets. He assumed this role in May 2026.

His recent roles at the OCC include acting Senior Deputy Comptroller for Community Banks where he oversaw the supervision of national banks and federal savings associations with up to $30 billion in assets and acting Senior Deputy Comptroller for the Office of Management, including oversight of Administrative Operations, Human Capital, Information Technology Services, and the Office of the Chief Financial Officer.

Previously, he served as the Deputy Comptroller for Specialty Supervision, responsible for Novel Bank Supervision, Technology Service Provider Supervision, Thrift Supervision, and Special Supervision. He was also an Associate Deputy Comptroller for Midsize Bank Supervision.

Mr. Brickman began his career with the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) as an examiner in Kansas City, Mo., in 1998 and held various roles before joining the OCC in 2011 as the Director for Special Supervision.

Mr. Brickman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Kansas.
