OCC Names Marietta Perkins a Senior National Bank Examiner

WASHINGTON – The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency today announced that it had designated Marietta Perkins a Senior National Bank Examiner.

The Senior National Bank Examiner designation recognizes examiners who have distinguished themselves through high-quality performance and service as field examiners, subject matter experts, and advisers on highly complex and technical bank supervision issues.  It is the highest honor for national bank examiners.

“Over 150 years, very few have earned the right to be called Senior National Bank Examiner,” said Comptroller of the Currency Thomas J. Curry.  “Marietta has earned this right through her accomplishments and her significant contributions to the agency, but more importantly, by representing the very best of what an examiner can be.”

Senior National Bank Examiner Perkins first joined the OCC in 1978, earned her Trust commission in 1982, and passed the Uniform Commission Examination in 1986.  She has worked in a number of critical positions in the field and Headquarters.  From 1992 through 2009, Ms. Perkins served in the private industry and at the former Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight, expanding her experiences and technical knowledge of investment management.  She rejoined the OCC in 2009 and became Examiner-in-Charge of BlackRock in 2010.
