Overview

This booklet focuses on strategic, reputation, compliance, and operational risks as they relate to governance; reinforces oversight of credit, liquidity, interest rate, and price risks; and addresses guidance relating to the roles and responsibilities of the board and senior management as well as corporate and risk governance activities and risk management practices. Other booklets in the Comptroller's Handbook provide detailed risk management information according to subject.

Applicability

This booklet applies to the OCC's supervision of national banks and federal savings associations. References to national banks in this booklet also generally apply to federal branches and agencies of foreign banking organizations. Refer to 12 USC 3102(b) and the "Federal Branches and Agencies Supervision" booklet of the Comptroller's Handbook for more information.
