The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) established the National Bank Appeals Process in 1993. The effectiveness of this process led to passage of the Regulatory Improvement Act of 1994, which requires all federal banking agencies to establish their own appeals procedures. OCC’s appeals process provides an independent avenue for resolution of disputes arising from our supervisory function with regard to national banks and federal thrifts.
